The Lerner School for Gifted Children. Founded just this year, it has offered a new life for the children experimented on by Itex. Here they will be safe, and can learn to become part of society while interacting with normal students. Among the students are Maximum Ride and her flock, for whom the school was originally created for. They no longer need to worry about saving the world, and can finally let their guard down.

Or so they think.

There is another group of avian-human hybrids at the school, claiming to be experiments of Itex. They are friendly towards everyone, but they are not to be trusted. They were actually engineered by the Biogen Initiative, a rival of Itex. Unlike Itex, Biogen has perfected the process mutating children and teenagers, through a painful but survivable process. Biogen, however, has found itself in short supply of test subjects-and have set their sights on the Lerner School, using their 'B-Flock' as spies.

With children starting to disappear, the Flock has taken notice, and have started to search for a cause. But the B-Flock has their eye on them, with the plan of capturing them to be brought to Biogen to study. Will the Flock be able to help the kidnapped children, and avoid recapture?
